Large, complex organizations remark that they are at risk of “going the way of the dodo” because they can’t keep pace with the sheer volume of innovation necessary to survive. For health system leaders, the innovation imperative increases the pressure on how they think, work, and organize. And expecting small innovation teams to carry the full burden of innovation is not realistic, nor sufficient. Everyone must be an innovator, as innovation is our unfinished / never-finished business.
